SMTP Mail Server Configuration PDF Print E-mail

Joomla has a variety of mail server configuration settings. The easiest and most familiar to most users will be the SMTP Server.

To access your Joomla Mail Settings, log into the administrative control panel, and select "Global Configuration", and the "Server" tab. You will see the "Mail Settings" box at the bottom right of this screen.

This server allows you to configure your mail settings just like your personal email account. To configure this, simply select "SMTP Server" from the mailer types. Then enter an email address, and your website name. This will be the "From" information on the email message received by your users.

If your SMTP server requires authentication, don't forget to say "Yes" to authentication, and enter your SMTP username and password.

Finally enter your SMTP server name under "SMTP Host". Don'tworrya bout the "Sendmail Path" as no change is required.
